Hi! I'm Vashon Borich-Leach (aka The T.U.F.F. Momma). I'm a polymath who enjoys sharing my experience as a digital entrepreneur, karate instructor, gourmet salt and pallet wood crafter, business coach, public speaker, author and animal lover. I live in Southern Missouri with my two sons, Ty and Jack, along with several animals that adopted me including my dangerously handsome husband, Ron. I hope to inspire you to be Tough, Unstoppable, Fearless and Free! (T.U.F.F.) Thank you for reading my blog posts!

Recently a fellow Team T.U.F.F. Community Member asked me How to thrive in life in the midst of destructive noise and negativity.  I decided to record this video to explain some of the ways to do this. I call this, How to Arm Yourself Against Negativity. (Sorta like suiting up like Iron Man. Ha!) Here you go…

Quotes to Protect You From Negativity

One of my favorite ways to avoid negativity and confrontations are with these quotes, “Let me get back to you on that.” or “Thank you for bringing that to my attention” and “maybe you’re right.” These are useful to memorize when a confrontational family member or colleague approaches you with unsolicited advice or suggestions about your life.

In the video, I also share how to avoid negativity at work. One of the ways to do that is to avoid water cooler gossip. Stay away from places at work where people congregate and share negative conversations. If you want to know how to avoid negativity in relationship situations, it will require you to sit down with your significant other and share your feelings. I give a specific statement you can use for this in the video. Making your thoughts and feelings known in a polite but firm way can help you to avoid negativity at home and with family members.

Every leader and successful person in this world has had to face negativity at some point in their life. In fact, if you aren’t polarizing your audience, you probably aren’t successful. The quickest way to failure is trying to please everyone. It might be challenging at times, but choose to be grateful for the Negative Nellies in your life. They are just beacons in the road alerting you that you are definitely on the right path!
