Quite simply, Yin and Yang = order and chaos

A good life strikes a balance between the two. The balance point in life is MEANING & PURPOSE.

In focusing on a life of meaning & purpose you can straddle order and chaos without fear and find more serenity.

Be aware that your meaning & purpose can change throughout the seasons of your life.

  • What do you like to do?
  • What brings you joy?
  • How are you serving other people?
  • What are you curious about?
  • What do you enjoy reading or researching?
  • What brings you to tears?
  • What makes you laugh?
  • What type of people do you most enjoy being around?

Meaning & Purpose is the place where you are guided by love & truth. Specifically, your love and your personal truth. (Everyone’s loves and truths are different!)

Choose to do what is meaningful in your life not what is expedient.

Expedient means:
A means of attaining an end, especially one that is convenient but considered improper or immoral.

Whenever you feel like you’re on the chaos end of the spectrum it’s because you’re not living or speaking your truth.

If you are spending your days in a constant routine with few risks you are on the orderly side of the spectrum. You also ARE NOT living or speaking your truth.

Find your center.

Seek out experiences, conversations, people, hobbies, relationships and career choices that bring you meaning and purpose.

It is here that you will live your best life, no matter what is going on in the world.

  1. I find this to be a hard truth. My tendency is to seek order above all else, but as you stated, “If you are spending your days in a constant routine with few risks you are on the orderly side of the spectrum. You also ARE NOT living or speaking your truth.” One foundational Taoist belief is that the only constant is change. This change is reflected in the chaos end of the spectrum that you elaborated on. Thank you for extolling the wisdom of balance between order and chaos. I believe it is something we should all take more time to reflect upon.
